Magnesium Blood Test

Magnesium is involved in energy production, muscle and nerve function, heart rhythm and the hormones that control calcium. This test measures the magnesium in the liquid part of your blood (serum). It is the standard test used in clinical practice, and it is good at detecting clearly abnormal levels. Because less than 1% of the body's magnesium is in the blood, a normal result cannot confirm that your stores in bone and muscle are full.

Before you book

  • Price: £50. This covers laboratory analysis and your laboratory report.
  • Where: Your blood sample is taken from a vein by our team at 82 King Street, Maidstone, or at a partner clinic near you, anywhere in the UK.
