Juvelook in Kent

Juvelook is an injectable skin booster that combines two ingredients. Hyaluronic acid attracts and holds water in the skin. PDLLA (poly-D,L-lactic acid) is a material intended to prompt your skin to build more of its own collagen over time. It's used to improve skin quality, such as texture, fine lines and acne scarring, on the face, neck and under the eyes.

All three are injected to improve skin quality. Profhilo is hyaluronic acid only, used mainly for hydration and bounce. Polynucleotides are purified fish-derived DNA fragments, often chosen for thin under-eye skin. Juvelook also contains PDLLA, which is designed to encourage collagen gradually. Which, if any, suits you is explained at your consultation.

Changes are gradual. Your skin builds collagen slowly, so any improvement develops over the weeks and months after treatment. Results vary from person to person and aren't guaranteed.

It's still early. PDLLA has mainly been studied in small trials and case reports, and the combination with hyaluronic acid in even fewer, so there's no agreed standard on dose or number of sessions. We'll talk you through what is realistic for your skin, and through other options, before you decide.

Swelling, redness and bruising at the injection points are common and usually settle within a few days. Less commonly, small firm lumps (nodules) can form under the skin, sometimes weeks or months later. As with any injection in the face, there's a rare risk of a blood vessel being affected, which needs urgent attention. We go through the risks with you in detail at your consultation.

Juvelook may not be suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, if you have a skin infection in the area, or with some medical conditions. Please tell us about your health, allergies and any medicines you take, so we can check it's appropriate for you.

Most people have a course of two or three sessions. The exact number and the time between them depend on your skin and the area being treated, and we agree a plan with you at your consultation.

Juvelook is priced by area: eyes £400, neck £500 and full face £600. We confirm the cost of your plan at your consultation, before any treatment.

Allow around an hour. Every treatment starts with a consultation with Marina. She assesses your skin and health history and explains suitability, benefits, risks, realistic outcomes and aftercare. There's no obligation to go ahead. Mild redness or swelling afterwards is common. Contact the clinic straight away if anything worries you after treatment.
