That depends on what your skin is showing on the day. Our facials can focus on hydration, brightness, cooling or facial massage, and we choose the approach around concerns such as dehydration, congestion, dullness, uneven texture or loss of radiance. Sensitivity and the health of your skin barrier (its protective outer layer) guide how much exfoliation or stimulation we use. Your plan can change over time as your skin responds.

A facial can leave skin looking smoother, fresher and more hydrated. Most of that effect is short term, so think of a facial as care for how your skin looks and feels rather than a treatment for a skin condition. Deeper concerns such as scarring, pigmentation or persistent breakouts usually need a different approach, such as microneedling, a chemical peel or a clinical skin consultation.

Your facial is carried out by a member of our team under the supervision of Marina, our founder. Marina is an NMC-registered nurse with more than 25 years of nursing experience. Before treatment starts, we talk you through what the facial involves, its benefits and limits, any risks and your aftercare.

A cooling facial uses cold on the skin for short periods. Cold narrows small blood vessels, so skin can look temporarily less puffy and less red. There is little research on cold facials, and claims about longer-term benefits have not been tested in proper trials. Cold may not suit very dry or sensitive skin or rosacea. A cryo facial is different from CryoPen, which freezes individual skin lesions.

Often yes, with the right approach. We pay particular attention to sensitivity and barrier health and adjust exfoliation, cooling and massage to suit. Please tell us about any skin condition, cold sores, allergies, prescribed skin creams or recent treatments such as peels before your appointment. If a condition is flaring, a skin health consultation may be a better first step than a facial.

Most people go back to their day straight after a facial. Skin can look a little pink for a short time after massage, exfoliation or cooling, particularly if it is sensitive. If anything in your facial is likely to leave your skin more reactive, we explain this beforehand, along with any aftercare to follow.

There is no single right interval, and research does not set one. How often you come back depends on your skin, your goals and how your skin responds to each treatment. We review this with you and adjust your plan as your skin changes, so you are not tied into a fixed schedule.
