Which one should I book?

The Cryo Facial is the right choice if you want an immediate visible result with no preparation or downtime. The Luminance is best for skin that needs a thorough cleanse and circulation reset.

The Contour is most appropriate if you're noticing early laxity, loss of definition, or fine lines and want a treatment that addresses the structural as well as the surface.

If you're unsure, book a Cryo Facial as your first appointment. It gives us the opportunity to assess your skin in person before recommending a more targeted approach.

Question 2

Is there any downtime?

Accepted Answer

No. All three facials have no meaningful downtime and that's by design. Mild redness or warmth following the Cryo or Contour treatment settles within one to two hours.

The Luminance produces the mildest immediate response of the three. You can return to work, social commitments, and normal daily activity immediately after any of these treatments.

For patients who want results without any recovery period, facials are often the most practical entry point into the treatment menu.

How often should I have a facial?

For the Cryo Facial, once a month is appropriate for ongoing maintenance and the cumulative benefit of consistent cryo stimulation is genuinely meaningful over time.

The Luminance and Contour treatments benefit most from a regular course, typically four to six sessions spaced two to three weeks apart, followed by monthly maintenance once the skin has reached a better baseline.

The mistake most patients make is having a single facial, noticing an improvement, and then returning six months later expecting the same result from another one-off appointment. Skin responds to consistency. A regular programme produces progressively better results than occasional treatments, because each session builds on the improvement the last one established.

Can I combine a facial with other treatments at the same appointment?

In many cases yes, and for some patients combining treatments in the same appointment is the most efficient approach.

A Cryo Facial works well as a finishing treatment after injectables, calming the skin and reducing initial swelling. The Contour Facial pairs well with microneedling or polynucleotides on a separate day, supporting the collagen stimulation those treatments initiate at a deeper level.

What I will not do is stack treatments in a single appointment without clinical justification for doing so. The combination has to serve the patient's skin, not the appointment slot. I can advise on the most appropriate pairing at consultation.

Are the facials suitable for sensitive or reactive skin?

All three treatments use professional-grade products selected for skin tolerance, and all three can be adapted for sensitive skin.

The Cryo Facial is particularly well suited to reactive or sensitised skin because the cryo element has a calming as well as a tightening effect, reducing redness and inflammation rather than provoking it.

The Luminance is the gentlest of the three in terms of active stimulation and is appropriate for most skin types including those with rosacea or chronic sensitivity, with minor adaptations.

The Contour is the most active of the three and some patients with very reactive skin may respond better to starting with the Luminance before progressing. If you have a diagnosed skin condition, specific sensitivities, or are currently using prescription topicals such as tretinoin, please mention this at booking and I will adapt the treatment accordingly.

What products are used in the facials?

The products used across all three facials are professional-grade formulations selected for both efficacy and skin tolerance. The hyaluronic acid used in the Cryo Facial is a clinical-grade concentrate rather than a cosmetic moisturiser.

The firming serum applied in the Contour Facial contains actives selected to support elasticity and skin density at a cellular level, not just at the surface. I do not use whatever happens to be available. Product selection is a clinical decision in the same way that injectable product selection is, and it is reviewed regularly as formulations improve.

How do facials fit alongside injectable or device treatments?

Very well, and in most cases the combination produces better outcomes than either approach in isolation.

Facials prepare the skin surface and support barrier function, which makes it more responsive to the regenerative stimulus of treatments like HIFU, polynucleotides, or Profhilo. They also support recovery after injectables by improving circulation and reducing initial inflammation.

For patients who are new to aesthetic treatments and uncertain about injectables, facials are often the most sensible starting point. They produce visible results, they're delivered by the same practitioner who would manage more clinical treatments, and they give us both a clear picture of how your skin behaves before any more involved treatment is considered.

Will one facial make a visible difference?

Accepted Answer

Yes, particularly the Cryo and Contour treatments, where the immediate response is noticeable. The Cryo Facial produces visible depuffing and a surface tightening effect that most patients can see and feel the same day.

The Contour Facial produces a lifted, firmer appearance that develops fully over 24 to 48 hours as the actives absorb and circulation improves.

The Luminance is the most progressive of the three in terms of visible change, with the primary benefit being a restored quality and glow that builds with regular treatment rather than appearing dramatically after one session.

That said, even a single Luminance treatment produces a noticeable improvement in skin clarity and texture for the majority of patients. Managing expectations honestly is part of the consultation. I will always tell you what a single session can realistically achieve and what requires a course.

Can men have facials at Juvenology?

Yes. Male skin has specific characteristics, including greater sebaceous activity, thicker dermis, and the effects of regular shaving on the skin barrier, that actually make clinical facial treatments particularly beneficial.

The Contour Facial is especially relevant for male patients concerned about early laxity or skin quality, and the Cryo Facial works well for patients with congestion or post-shave sensitivity. All three treatments are appropriate for male skin and the approach is adapted to the individual regardless of gender.

Question 10

What should I do before and after my facial?

Accepted Answer

Before your facial, come with clean skin where possible and avoid applying heavy makeup or SPF that will need to be removed. There is no other specific preparation required.

After your facial, avoid applying makeup for at least two hours to allow the skin to absorb the products applied during treatment. Avoid intense heat, including saunas and steam rooms, for 24 hours. Apply SPF the following morning and keep the skin hydrated.

For the Contour Facial specifically, avoid active exfoliants such as AHAs, BHAs, or retinoids for 48 hours after treatment to allow the firming actives to work without interference. If you are unsure about anything specific to your skin or your current skincare routine, ask at the appointment and I will advise you directly.
