Spider Vein Treatment: Sclerotherapy and Laser
Spider veins, or telangiectasia, are those small purple, red, or blue vessels visible through the skin on your legs or face. If you find yourself constantly checking your legs before wearing certain clothes, or covering facial redness with makeup, professional treatment can make a real difference.
At Juvenology, I provide two evidence-based treatments tailored to your vein type. Sclerotherapy is the gold standard for leg veins. I inject a sclerosant solution directly into the veins, causing them to collapse and fade over four to eight weeks.
For facial veins and smaller leg veins, Nd:YAG 1064nm laser therapy is ideal. The laser targets haemoglobin in the vessels, gently heating and closing them for a smoother appearance.

Sclerotherapy Spider Vein Treatment in Maidstone
During sclerotherapy, I inject pharmaceutical-grade sclerosant directly into the affected veins. This causes a controlled collapse of the vessel, which your body gradually absorbs over four to eight weeks.
A typical appointment lasts 20 to 30 minutes. You will wear compression stockings for one to two weeks and should avoid hot baths or intense exercise during the initial recovery period. Most patients require two to four sessions, spaced six to eight weeks apart, to achieve significant clearance.
This is a safe, well-established treatment, and with proper follow-up, veins often fade noticeably, leaving your legs looking smoother and clearer.
Laser Treatment: Small Spider Veins
The Nd:YAG 1064nm laser delivers a precise wavelength that targets the hemoglobin in veins, gently heating and collapsing them without injections. It is particularly well-tolerated on the face and works well for smaller veins that are tricky to treat with sclerotherapy.
A typical session takes 15 to 20 minutes. You may feel a light snapping sensation, like a gentle rubber band against the skin. Redness can appear for a few hours afterward, but there’s no need for compression or activity restrictions. The veins often darken initially and then gradually fade over two to four weeks.
Most patients need three to five sessions, spaced four to six weeks apart, for the best results. Facial veins usually respond very well, while leg veins can be less predictable. With consistent, properly spaced treatments, patients often notice gradual improvement, leaving the skin looking clearer and more even.
If you’re ready to reduce the appearance of spider veins safely and effectively, book a consultation to see which approach is right for you.
