You can fly after Botox safely! Just make sure to stay upright for at least 4 hours after treatment, hydrate well, avoid rubbing or lying flat, and try to schedule your Botox appointment a few days before flying. Keep an eye on swelling or bruising, and always chat with your provider if you have any worries!
Is Flying After Botox Safe?

Good news, yes, flying after Botox is generally safe!
There’s no evidence that cabin pressure affects your Botox results directly.
But remember, bruising or swelling can feel a bit more noticeable during flights because of cabin pressure and dry
air. These effects are temporary and should fade within a few days.
Tips for a Smooth Flight Post-Botox
Consult Your Doctor: Before you fly, check in with your provider. They’ll offer personalized advice, which is always comforting. If you’re in Kent, you can book a consultation with us here.
Stay Upright: Keep sitting up for at least 4 hours after treatment. It helps Botox settle where it should.
Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate: Airplane air is drying! Drink plenty of water before and during your flight to keep your skin happy. For skincare tips during travel, take a peek at this helpful article from the British Association of Cosmetic Nurses.
Avoid Pressure: No rubbing, massaging, or tight masks on the treated areas. Also, avoid lying flat during the flight, it can cause Botox to move.
What About Side Effects?
You might notice some redness, swelling, or bruising. This is totally normal and usually clears up quickly. If anything feels off or lasts longer than you expect, give your provider a ring! You can learn more about potential side effects on the JCCP website.
How Long Should You Wait Before Flying?
Ideally, wait 24-48 hours before flying after Botox. If you have multiple injection sites or a lot of swelling, waiting a bit longer can help.
Dos and Don’ts Before Flying
Dos:
Stay upright for 4+ hours after treatment
Drink lots of water
Follow your provider’s aftercare instructions
Don’ts:
Don’t rub or massage the area
Avoid lying down during the flight
Skip strenuous activities until healed
